Neurogenesis, or the birth of new neural cells, was allowed to occur only in the developing nervous system and a fixed neuronal population in the adult brain was accepted to be mandatory to maintain the functional stability of adult brain circuitry. even so, recent studies have proved that neurogenesis does indeed continue into and throughout adult life in separate regions of the CNS of all mammals, including humans. Although neurogenesis may contribute to the capability of the adult brain to serve typically and be convinced in response to cerebral conditions for tone- form, this nevertheless declines with advancing age. Understanding the basic biology of neural stem cells and the molecular and cellular regulation mechanisms of neurogenesis in adolescent and aging brain will have us to modulate cell cover processes in the adult brain for the maintenance of healthy brain tissues and for form of disease states in the senior.
